Mota-Engil Group, founded in 1946 with approximately 300 subsidiaries, is Portugal's largest construction company and holds a strong position among Europe's Top 30 and Global Top 100 construction groups.
In 2021, Mota-Engil announced that its African subsidiary signed a €1.48 billion (US$1.82 billion) contract with Nigeria for the Kano-Maradi Railway Project—a 284 km rail infrastructure project stretching from Kano-Jigawa to Katsina-Maradi, with expected completion in 2026.

For this project, Mota-Engil invested US$200 million in over 200 high-quality SANY machines, including 27 SANY heavy-duty diesel trucks.


2023: First batch of 15 trucks deployed, accumulating 90,000 km
2024: Second batch of 12 trucks added, with 30,000 km logged
To date: All 27 trucks have operated without major repairs—a testament to their reliability in ensuring uninterrupted transport operations.
