In the forestry transport sector, heavy loads and rugged terrain are often seen as the enemies of battery range. However, in the forests of Mpumalanga, South Africa, SANY Eectric Heavy Trucks are rewriting the rules of energy consumption.



Operating in the Ngodwana AH region, these trucks are tasked with transporting heavy timber loads over a 40km single-trip distance. Instead of rapidly draining the battery, the unique topography of the route has become a game-changer. By utilizing regenerative braking technology during heavy-load downhill sections, the truck recovers a massive amount of kinetic energy—recharging the battery by up to 80%.



This breakthrough performance is driven by SANY's scenario-specific engineering:
