[CHANGSHA, China] — On March 5, a 15-member delegation led by Redha Messaoui, Senior Vice President of Volvo Group, visited SANY TRUCK for a high-level meeting with Lincoln Liang, Chairman of SANY TRUCK. The two parties engaged in constructive and equitable exchanges focused on R&D innovation, supply chain management, and China's innovation ecosystem. Through mutual learning, both sides aim to collaboratively explore pathways for the high-quality development of new energy heavy trucks, contributing to the global transition toward green transportation.

During the visit, executives from Volvo Group and Volvo Trucks China joined SANY’s core management team and key R&D professionals for an open seminar, where they exchanged in-depth insights on cutting-edge technologies and industry trends. The Volvo delegation also toured the SANY Intelligent Heavy Truck Industrial Park, gaining a comprehensive understanding of SANY’s innovative achievements in smart manufacturing, decarbonization, and digitalization. They spoke highly of SANY’s advanced equipment manufacturing capabilities and its strategic blueprint in the new energy sector, experiencing firsthand the remarkable China Speed driving the heavy truck industry.



Redha Messaoui noted that Volvo Group attaches great importance to frontier technologies such as advanced batteries and hydrogen fuel cells—fields where China has emerged as a global leader. He emphasized that the primary purpose of this visit is to explore China’s industrial development experience and uncover the core logic behind China Speed.

Francis Sum, President of Volvo Group China and Volvo Trucks China, noted that China Speed is the result of integrating multiple competitive advantages. He emphasized that this visit serves as a crucial initiative for Volvo to gain deeper insights into leading Chinese enterprises and strengthen industry-wide communication.

Chairman Lincoln Liang extended a warm welcome to Redha Messaoui and his delegation, highlighting the long-standing, friendly strategic partnership between SANY and Volvo. He emphasized that SANY is ready to share its experience unreservedly, and expressed hope that this mutual exchange will further promote the upgrading of the new energy heavy truck industry.

In addition, the R&D teams from both companies engaged in in-depth discussions on core topics, including shortening R&D cycles, optimizing key components, and maximizing supply chain advantages. Sun Guobin, Director of the Operations Management Department at SANY TRUCK, noted that China Speed stems from SANY's accurate foresight on the prospect of electrification, coupled with the pragmatic dedication of all its employees. He emphasized that SANY's R&D efforts consistently strike a balance between product quality and core competitiveness.
As a pioneer in the electrification transition of China's heavy truck industry, SANY TRUCK has embarked on a four-year journey of low-carbon innovation since launching its electrification strategy in 2021, and has now entered a new phase of high-quality development.
